The ancient city has been besieged many times over the centuries; but the cannons could not make a single breach in its strong walls, nor did the huge chain of the Golden Horn give way to the enemy ships. Moreover, if Mehmed wants to take the city, he has to fight not only against the Byzantine Empire and the Christian world behind it, but also against the mighty grand vizier Çandarlı Halil Pasha, his biggest opponent in the state. This great Sultan, who was far ahead of his time, advances by overcoming all kinds of obstacles with his brilliant mind, military and strategic genius, wisdom and belief in victory. Two years after ascending the throne, he besieged the city, and after a siege that lasted only 53 days, he achieved the so-called "impossible" and conquered Constantinople. He writes his name in history by realizing his biggest dream. Sultan Mehmed Han, who was known as Fatih after that day, opens the door of a new age with this victory and lays the foundations of a great World Empire that will rule the continents for centuries.
